This is where we try to post current information on items that are backordered by the manufacturer.

If an item you want is backordered we can take your order and get you in the queue for when the product ships. Otherwise they may sell out again before you get one. We often make substitutions as well, sometimes for more expensive items if the difference is reasonable. If you place an order and don't want to wait on an item or arrange a substitute we can promptly refund the amount paid for the item.

If you find a backordered item elsewhere be sure to check on whether they have it in stock or not. The lead time shown here is the time it will take anyone to get these items from the manufacturer if they are not in stock. Larger "big box" operations do often have large enough inventories to cover backorder periods.

Life-Link Products

For the first part of the season we found a lot of LifeLink products being backordered for a long time. We haven't checked in a while so we can inquire for you. We have snow study kits in stock, as well as a few other items: 280 Carbon Probes, Slope Meters, and Snowpit, Crystal and Backcountry cards.

Most poles have been backordered all season, although in mid-December we were able to get some Carbon Pros.

Discontinued Items

The original Barryvox Opto 3000 is no longer being sold now that the PULSE is available. We have the PULSE but have not added it to the store. Ortovox is out of the Teleskop shovel and is discontinuing it next season. These two items have been removed from our store.

We are out of the video "Winning the Avalanche Game" and have not been able to re-order. We don't know what the status of this video is at this time, and it is still posted in the store while we figure out whether it is still "in print" or not.
